ONE HULL OF A BIG BOAT
The final piece of the underwater hull of future aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy is lowered into place in Newport News, Va. The 1,096-foot hull is longer than three football fields. More than 3,000 shipbuilders are working on the construction of the ship, which is expected to be christened in late 2019.
