67’s swept away by the Storm

It went from bad to worse Sunday afternoon for the Ottawa 67’s, who were whacked on the road, 8-4, by the Guelph Storm.

The Storm took a 3-0 lead in the first period and led 7-1 with 4:35 left in the second. Ottawa goalie Michael DiPietro was yanked after Guelph’s fifth goal.

The 67’s got goals from Tye Felhaber — his 47th of the year — Marco Rossi, Jack Quinn and Graeme Clarke. Felhaber also assisted on Rossi’s goal to record the 250th point of his OHL career. Sasha Chmelevski’s assist on Felhaber’s goal was the 100th point of his OHL career. Captain Isaac Ratcliffe led the way for Guelph with a hat trick.

The 67’s return to action at home on Friday when they host the Peterborou­gh Petes during Dunder Mifflin night at The Arena at TD Place.
