HARVEY, Viola Noël

Viola died peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2019 at the age of 88 years old. Vi was born and raised in Montreal, spending many happy times with her 11 siblings. After graduating high school, Vi worked at Bell Canada and was proud to have achieved the level of operator supervisor by the very young age of 18. It was at Bell that she first laid eyes on the love of her life, an engineer named Robert (Bob) Harvey. They married on June 19, 1954 and a year later, Vi became a stay-at-home mom. Over the next 57 years, she and Bob raised three children and enjoyed a wonderful life together until Bob passed in 2011. Viola always had a smile on her face. She loved to socialize and easily made friends wherever she went. She treasured visits from family and friends. She enjoyed playing piano, whistling and dancing to music, sculpting and painting. Vi is survived by her daughter, Viv (Robert), and two sons, Robert (Linda) and Gary (Kathy). She is also survived by her grandchild­ren Tanya, Treawna, Pam, and Stuart, her great-granddaugh­ter, Alice, her sisters, Cossette, Mitch, Lucy, Dolly and Diane, and brother, Andre. She was predecease­d by her parents, Albert and Annonciade, stepmother, Martha, grandson, Thomas, sisters Sonja, Carol and Chrissy, and brothers, Bobby and Chops. Funeral visitation, service and burial will take place this spring on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Pinecrest Cemetery and Cremation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa ON K2C 3H9. Visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. followed by burial and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heartwood Long Term Care, 201 Eleventh Street East, Cornwall ON or to a charity of your choice would be appreciate­d.
