Salinger novels make digital leap
J.D. Salinger’s Holden Caulfield is getting the digital treatment. Starting today you can follow the Pencey Prep student protagonist from The Catcher in the Rye in ebooks available from publisher Little Brown and Co. It’s also releasing the late author’s Nine Stories, Franny and Zooey, and the combined novellas Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction. Son Matt Salinger said the modernization helps people with disabilities. “There were few things my father loved more than the full tactile experience of reading a printed book,” he said, “but he may have loved his readers more.”
