Murphy plans standup tour

Eddie Murphy is planning a standup tour next year after ages away from the mike, the comedian told Netflix podcast Present Company with Krista Smith. The concerts are expected to tie in with a series of Netflix standup specials and will follow Murphy’s return to host Saturday Night Live Dec. 21 for the first time in 35 years. Murphy, a box office draw from Beverly Hills Cop in the ’80s through the more recent Shrek series, hinted at hitting the road in a recent episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
