Almonte high school threat prompts probe

-

OPP officers are investigating an online threat made against Almonte and District High School. In a statement Friday, Principal Casey Nelson said, “At this point, there is no evidence that indicates the threats made were credible.” Police, however, were continuing their investigation. No arrests have been made. Nelson said that, after he became aware of an online threat against the school, OPP were notified and a scheduled football game was cancelled. Officers were present at the school throughout the day. “We understand that parents and guardians expect our school to meet the educational and learning needs of their children and to be a safe environment at all times, which is why we have taken this threat seriously,” Nelson said.
