WAS LEIA REALLY THE LAST JEDI?

-

Carrie Fisher was supposed to be “the last Jedi” in the imminent Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, her brother Todd Fisher told Yahoo this week.

The Princess Leia actress, shown, died in December 2016 from cardiac arrest before filming had begun. She was last seen briefly in 2017’s The Last Jedi.

“People used to say to me, ‘Why is it that Carrie never gets a lightsaber and chops up some bad guys,’” Fisher said, adding original Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Alec Guinness was around the same age (63) in 1977 as his sister was when she died (60), and he took on Darth Vader.

“Obi-Wan was in his prime when he was Carrie’s age!”

Unused footage from her last two performances will be cut into the new movie to fill her role.

The Rise of Skywalker hits theatres Dec. 20.
