Stone goes back to Basic

Sharon Stone accepted the GQ woman of the year award with a nod to her scandalous leg-crossing scene from 1992 thriller Basic Instinct, Britain’s Daily Mail reports. Stone, 61, made her acceptance speech Thursday in Berlin from a chair, but didn’t flash. “Some years ago I was sitting on a sound stage, and my director (Paul Verhoeven) said, ‘Can you hand me your underpants, because we’re seeing them in the scene and you shouldn’t have underpants on. But we won’t see anything,’” Stone told the audience. “I said, ‘Sure.’ I didn’t know this moment would change my life.”
