CZIGLER, Attila "Ziggy" Janos

-

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Attila “Ziggy” Janos Czigler on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the age of 63 years. Beloved son of the late John and Katalin Czigler and brother John, with whom he is now reunited. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Cici, Audy (Andrew), brothers Jimmy and Dennis (Nicole), ex-wife Antoinette and her husband John, Alberto, Tony, Carmen, Josephine, and Tony Jr., Alex, Sandra, Shayla, Anthony and Karen, girlfriend Connie and her daughter Jessica, and his many friends that he made along his journey: childhood friend Bobby, neighbours Michael, Joey, Phil, Dave, Al, Ed and long time friends Carol (from Ziggy’s Hair Studio) Eva and Doug, Shawn, Duffy, Sylvie, Lorne, Jack, Sharon, and Theresa. Attila spent over 20 years at Carleton University as the owner and top hairstylist of Ziggy’s Hair Studio, until he retired in order to spend more time doing the things he loved at home on the water in Kemptville. He loved spending the summer months jet-skiing along the Rideau River with friends, followed by large social gatherings where his friends and family could come together to eat, drink, laugh and tell stories. During the winter, he loved skidooing, four-wheeling, and ice fishing, and welcomed his friends to enjoy his home and toys equally. He was an inventor and took pride in his many inventions, big and small. He built a beautiful 1931 Chevy, which garnered the attention and adoration of anyone who laid eyes on it. His children still remember the high-pitched sound the engine made when he turned down their street - sheer excitement that dad was home. Attila was a kind, gentle, and generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be planned for this summer at Andrew Haydon Park; family and friends will be notified by Facebook or phone once arrangements have been made. Attila spent many years at the park and surrounding area, and the family will be planting a tree there in his memory for all to visit. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors at the Civic Hospital and to the incredible nurses and doctors at Élisabeth Bruyère for the compassionate care they provided him during his residence there. We are forever grateful to you all. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Kellyfh.ca
