What’s open and closed in Ottawa on Family Day

You know what they say about failing to plan — here’s a list of what’s open and closed in Ottawa on Monday for Family Day.

SHOPPING

The Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bayshore, St. Laurent, Tanger Outlets, Place d’Orléans and Billings Bridge will be closed.

LCBO stores and The Beer Store outlets will all be closed.

Many grocery stores will be closed — it’s best to call ahead to your local store to check.

RECREATION AND CULTURE

Some city pools, arenas and fitness centres will be open on modified schedules, while most registered programs at these facilities will be cancelled. Check out ottawa.ca for facility-specific info or contact the facility directly.

The Ottawa Public Library will be closed.

The Ottawa Art Gallery and the National Gallery will be open their regular hours. The Diefenbunk­er will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the war and history museums from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Science and Technology and Agricultur­e and Food Museums from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Aviation and Space Museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TRANSIT

OC Transpo buses will operate on a reduced weekday schedule, while O-Train Lines 1 and 2 will run on a normal weekday schedule with schedule info available online or through the OC Transpo app.

Transpo’s customer service line (613-741-4390) will remain open, as will its customer service centres at Lincoln Fields, Place d’Orléans, St-Laurent and the Rideau Centre.

Para Transpo will offer holiday service. All regularly scheduled trips will automatica­lly be cancelled, but customers can book trips by calling 613-244-7272.

Free Sno-Bus service will run from Dow’s Lake to downtown via the Queen Elizabeth Driveway, and from downtown to Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. every 15 minutes.

CITY SERVICES

Ottawa City Hall, all client service centres and the city’s provincial offences court will be closed. The city’s 311 contact centre will remain open for urgent municipal issues.

All city childcare centres will be closed.

The sexual health clinic and satellite clinics will be closed, as will dental clinics and the Ottawa Public Health informatio­n centre. The Clarence Street Site office and its supervised consumptio­n services will be closed.

There won’t be any curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection on Family Day — pickup will take place on Tuesday instead, and collection will be delayed by a day for the remainder of the week. Multi-residentia­l garbage containers will be collected as scheduled, but recycling and green bin collection will be delayed by a day.

Parking at city hall will be free on Family Day.
