MAG’S FIRST EDITION IN THE CAN
Facility is a new magazine about bathrooms that had its launch party in a bathroom, Slate Magazine reports. Readers are treated to 112 pages of interviews with plumbers and stories about the origin of sex-segregated toilets. Facility holds forth almost exclusively in print, having only an Instagram account and a website (facility-mag.com) featuring one article teasing the print edition and the option to purchase copies. The current one is a list of locked public bathrooms in New York and their access codes. “Eating food and eliminating waste are fundamental to human experience,” Facility says on its website. “But while there is a robust culture around food, there’s virtually none around the toilet.” The first issue is available in select stores across the U.S., but only ships internationally upon request. Facility’s second issue is due out in spring. Postmedia News
