Bravado Designs goes beyond nursing bras

- ALEESHA HARRIS

Bravado Designs has been considered a go-to brand for many shoppers looking for nursing bras. Now the Ontario-based company is getting into the “everyday bra” category, too.

The company is launching two underwire-free styles, the Muse and the Sculpt, designed to be comfortable and supportive — perfect for wearing while working from home.

We caught up with Jennifer Sparks, the senior director of marketing at Bravado Designs, to learn more.

Q For those who aren’t familiar, what is Bravado Designs?

A We are a proud and award-winning Canadian company that specializes in designing stylish and incredibly comfortable bras for pregnant and nursing women, and we most recently expanded our offering to all women with the introduction of our new Everyday Collection.

Q What makes it unique from other bra brands?

A Our brand shifted the paradigm on what a nursing bra should be by proving that women don’t have to sacrifice comfort for style or vice versa when wearing a bra. We have always prided ourselves with designing bras that help women feel good about themselves regardless of their changing shape or size.

We listen, we measure, we have women wear them and we get their feedback and we repeat each step until we get it right. This knowledge fuels us to continually bring new, innovative, technically and thoughtfully designed bras that are the perfect intersection of ultimate comfort and style.

Q What made this the right time to launch this new line of seamless, wire-free everyday bras?

A We knew that many of our consumers continued to wear our bras way past their nursing stage because they couldn’t bear to go back to a more structured, underwire bra every day, and they had become so used to feeling comfortable — they weren’t willing to give that up. We thought it was a perfect time to offer something we knew would be well received and easy to purchase.

Q Who is the target customer? A Our core target audience has always been pregnant and nursing women, however now our consumer is every woman.

Q What is the price range for the line?

A Both of our styles are competitively priced for a premium everyday bra at $50 for the Sculpt Bra and $52 for the Muse Bra.

Q And where can people check them out?

A This is an online exclusive launch only in Canada and can be purchased through our Canadian website at bravadodesigns.ca.

Q Lastly, what’s next?

A We are still surprised how many women are walking around in ill-fitted bras. At the core we are and will continue to be true specialists in designing bras that bring comfort, support and style to all women. aharris@postmedia.com
