Sadly, yes sadly, I read an ar­ti­cle ti­tled The Fail­ure of MaryPoppinomics.

Only some­one from CBC, in this case, Don Pit­tis, would an­a­lyze Mary Pop­pins, pretty much to death, and in­clude “big” words such as lex­i­co­log­i­cal and semaphored in the anal­y­sis. Pit­tis wrote “the new ver­sion is a wasted teach­ing op­por­tu­nity”.

I saw the new Mary Pop­pins with my grand­chil­dren, ages 5 and 8. I can tell Pit­tis right now that none of us, in­clud­ing me, paid that much at­ten­tion to what was go­ing on in the bank.

Here’s my ad­vice to Pit­tis and ev­ery­one else at CBC: The new Dumbo will be out soon. I sug­gest they stay home. JILL YOUNG OT­TAWA

(Pit­tis made men­tion that mag­i­cal Mary Pop­pins tells ev­ery­one to just smile and stop wor­ry­ing. Guess he didn’t take her ad­vice.)
