On the other hand, if your out­door kitchen is a few feet from your in­door kitchen, and mov­ing back and forth be­tween them is no con­cern, then your prep area may only need to in­clude open counter space (we rec­om­mend 36” in length) and cup­boards be­neath. Make sure you have enough space, easy ac­cess, and easy waste dis­posal.
