• Jochen Rindt is the only racing driver to have been posthumous­ly awarded a Formula 1 championsh­ip. In 1970, Rindt’s points total following his fatal crash practising for the Italian Grand Prix that year was never equalled. • The first person to achieve a speed greater than 60 mph (96 km/h) in an automobile was Camille Jenatzy of France, who officially reached 65.79 mph (about 105 km/h) in an electric car back in 1899.
