The Penticton Tim Hortons Pinnacles are headed for the Pacific Coast Soccer League Premier Men’s Division playoffs.

Penticton earned the fourth and final playoff berth by edging Khalsa Sporting Club 2-1 in a pivotal showdown Friday night in Chilliwack.

It was a rescheduled game from the July 7 matchup at King’s Park that was postponed due to smoky conditions.

The Pinnacles (5-7-0) finished up the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a largely meaningless 5-1 loss to first-place Vancouver United.

The game was, however, a dress rehearsal for the Sheila Anderson Memorial Challenge Cup playoff semifinals this Saturday at the Tresolini Turf Field in Port Moody.

Penticton and Vancouver United will clash at 4 p.m., with Mid-Isle Mariners and Vancouver Thunderbirds meeting in the other semifinal at 1:30 p.m.

The two winners meet for the championship Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

The Pinnacles also lost 3-0 to United back on June 10 in Vancouver. United finished the season with a 9-2-1 record for 28 points.

Mid-Isle and the Thunderbirds finished tied for second place with 7-3-2 marks for 23 points, with Mid-Isle awarded the higher placing on goal differential.

Port Moody SC finished fifth with 13 points, Khalsa was sixth with 11 and Victoria Highlanders last with 7.
