Judges start kicking ass!

-

Dear Editor: The role of a judge is to protect the people, the taxpayers who pay their salaries… not the layabouts who have no concept of what it means to be a citizen.

Sure, there are decent homeless people, who through no fault of their own, end up on the street, and I sympathize with them.

However, to practically lay out a welcome mat to those ‘leeches’ who fasten themselves on the benevolent carcass of society, with no conscience whatsoever, is total madness!

Criminals who have records as long as your arm, given a slap on the wrist and let o go free to plague society again and again. And their excuses!: • They were potty trained to soon as a baby.

• Beaten by their fathers as a child. • Bullied at school. • Forced by their peers to rob a store. • Tried drugs as an answer. • Impregnated their girlfriend by accident. The list goes on and on. Oh, and now they have seen the light! They have broken off their contacts with other ‘baddies,’ are off drugs for weeks, want to now be a father to their son, and retrain for a job.

And the frustrated RCMP… charging these people time and again only to bump into them, downtown, surrounded by their ‘mentors’ and grinning at them.

If I have the misfortune to appear before one of these judges in the future, because I caught one of these ‘leeches’ breaking into my house or car, and kicked their ass, in my defence, I’m now pleading: I had to potty train myself. I was 13 years of age before I realized my first name wasn’t Stupid.

I’m the only kid who left home with cauliflower ears.

I was bullied at school… by the teachers.

Judge, please let me go and I won’t do it again… well, until the next time. Russ McDevitt Summerland
