Permissive Tax Exemption

Council gave first, second and third reading to Permissive Tax Exemption Amendment Bylaw No. 2017-61, a bylaw granting permissive tax exemptions to applicants that are eligible under the Community Charter.

Flood Recovery Repairs Authorized

Council authorized staff to proceed with immediate repair works to areas along the Okanagan Waterfront damaged from the May 2017 high water levels, that include the SS Sicamous, Yacht Club parking lot, dog beach retaining wall, steel sheet piled wall west of the boardwalk and walkway pavers.

Tennis Courts Licence to Use

Council approved a five year Licence to Use to the Penticton Tennis Society, a non-profit society, at a licence rate of $4,000/year plus the estimated utilities for court lighting for the four tennis courts located at 675 Marina Way.

Land Matters 223/227 Conklin Avenue

Council gave first reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 201771, a bylaw to rezone the property from R2 (Small Lot Residentia­l) to RD2 (Duplex Housing: Lane). The applicant is proposing to build front to back duplexes on each lot. This matter will be forwarded to the November 7, 2017 Public Hearing.

1760 Carmi Avenue

Council gave first reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2017-72, a bylaw that rezones the property from RC (Country Residentia­l Housing) to RM1 (Bareland Strata Housing) and includes a site specific provision to the RM1 zone prohibitin­g townhouses on the subject lands. The applicant intends to develop the newly created parcel into a three lot ‘bare-land strata’ developmen­t, where a shared road will provide access to three new single family lots. This matter will be forwarded to the November 7, 2017 Public Hearing.

216 Westminste­r Avenue West

Council gave first reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2017-73, a bylaw that rezones the property from C8 (Vehicle Service Station) to C5 (Urban Centre Commercial). The applicant intends to develop a downtown parking lot for Valley First Credit Union employees. This matter will be forwarded to the November 7, 2017 Public Hearing.

168 Kirkpatric­k Avenue

Following the Public Hearing, Council adopted Zoning Amendment Bylaw No 2017-64, being a bylaw to amend City of Penticton Zoning Bylaw No 201708 by adding Section 10.1.3.7, a Bed and Breakfast Home shall be permitted.

461 Eckhardt Avenue West

Following the Public Hearing, Council gave second and third reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2017-65, a bylaw to rezone the property from RD2 (Duplex Housing: Lane) to RM2 (Low Density Multiple Housing). The applicant is proposing to build two duplexes.

641 Winnipeg Street

Following the Public Hearing, Council adopted OCP Amendment Bylaw No. 201766 and third reading was given to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2017-67 to rezone from RD2 (Duplex Housing: Lane) to RM2 (Low Density Multiple Housing). The applicant is proposing to build two duplexes.

681 Winnipeg Street

Following the Public Hearing, Council adopted OCP Amendment Bylaw No. 201768 and gave third reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2017-69 to rezone from RD2 (Duplex Housing: Lane) to RM2 (Low Density Multiple Housing). The applicant is proposing to build two duplexes.

1273 Government Street

Following the Public Hearing, Council gave second and third reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2017-70, a bylaw to rezone the property from R2 (Small Lot Residentia­l) to RM2 (Low Density Multiple Housing). The applicant is proposing to build a four unit townhouse.

270 Hastings Avenue

Council approved Developmen­t Variance Permit PL2017-8080 and Developmen­t Permit PL20178066 for the expansion to the senior care facility adding 18 additional units to serve the First Nation community.
