Members of the Osoyoos Coyotes went a long way to get four points last weekend.

The club travelled to Quesnel for two games against the Kamloops Storm, winning 3-1 on Friday and 6-2 on Saturday.

The road trip was designed to give the Coyotes’ contingent of players from Northern B.C. a chance to show their stuff in front of families and friends, plus christen Quesnel’s new 1,600-seat arena.

Colin Bell paced the Coyotes (187-1-0) in front of 680 fans on Friday with a goal and two assists, while Carter Shannon and Cameron Welch also scored.

Bell added another pair of assists Saturday with 532 people in the building, while Sam Reinbolt, with two, plus Carter Robinson, Connor Onstein, Judd Repole and Shannon looked after the goals.

Netminders Liam Aitken and Daniel Paul each collected a win between the pipes for Osoyoos, which returns to action on Wednesday against the host Princeton Posse.

The Summerland Steam (19-8-0-1) blanked the Posse 2-0 at home on Friday, before dropping a 3-2 decision on Saturday against the visiting Revelstoke Grizzlies.

Blake Holowaty and Scott Robinson had the goals Friday, while Matthew Huber earned the shutout between the pipes.

Cairo Rogers and Cody Swan scored in the losing effort, while Huber took the loss.

Summerland is back on the ice Friday in Osoyoos in what could be a showdown for first in the Okanagan Division.

The Steam currently resides in the top spot in the Okanagan Division with 39 points, just two up on the Coyotes.
