PLK’s undefeated season ends

Darren Schimpf made sure there would be no undefeated season for Penticton Lock and Key.

Schimpf scored four goals and added an assist as Theos thumped PLK 7-3 in Bad Tattoo Brewery Masters Indoor Soccer League action Dec. 17 at the Adidas Sportsplex.

Norm Peters, Phil Nunes and Murray McMichael also scored as Theos handed PLK its first loss of the season after six straight wins in the final round of games before the holiday break.

League scoring leader Zico Pescada scored twice and Alan Clarke had one for a depleted PLK team that had just one substitute for the game.

Tom McGill was terrific in goal for Theos, who jumped to a 5-1 halftime lead and never looked back.

Herb Alex collected three goals and four assists as Harvey-ListerWebb overcame an early 4-0 deficit to beat TC Auto Sales 8-6.

Ray Evans scored twice and Brian Johnston and Dave Killick also scored for the winners.

Peter Toth with three goals, Kevin Kothlow with two and Peter Ruocco replied for TC Auto, who were also depleted with just one available sub.

PLK continues to lead the fourteam loop with a 6-1-0 record, Theos stayed second at 4-3-0, HLW is 3-4-0 and TC Auto 1-6-0.

Next action is Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 with TC Auto playing Theos at 10 a.m., and PLK taking on HLW at 11:20 a.m.
