The Revelstoke Grizzlies and Osoyoos Coyotes will clash for the KIJHL’s Okanagan Shuswap Conference championsh­ip.

David Lenzin scored the go-ahead goal at 2:24 of the second period as the Grizzlies beat the visiting 100 Mile House Wranglers 4-1 in the seventh-and-deciding game of the Doug Birks Division final on Wednesday.

Revelstoke will face the Okanagan Division champion Coyotes in the conference final, with the series (schedule to be announced) to open in Revelstoke.

Osoyoos, which beat the Kelowna Chiefs 4-2 in the division final, is 8-3 thus far in the playoffs, while Revelstoke is 8-5.

Revelstoke was the top team in the conference in the regular season with a 34-8-2-3 mark for 73 points, while Osoyoos was second best at 32-11-2-2 for 66 points.

The Grizzlies won the season series 2-1, prevailing 5-2 on Sept. 30 in Osoyoos and 10-4 in Revelstoke in a meaningles­s game on the final weekend of the regular season. Osoyoos won 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 18 at the Sun Bowl Arena.

The Kootenay Conference final opens tonight with the Kimberley Dynamiters hosting the Nelson Leafs.

MINOR HOCKEY

Liam Whyte and Richter Heinz each scored twice as Penticton BPO Elks defeated West Kelowna 6-3 in the South Central Bantam Recreation­al Hockey League championsh­ip game Tuesday.

Whyte sealed the win with an empty-net goal from just in front of Penticton’s own net.

Luke MacIntyre had a goal and an assist and Carson Drobe also scored for the Elks, who came out on top in the 15-team league.

Trent Ashby made a series of terrific saves to keep Penticton in the driver’s seat.

The Elks will represent the South Central zone in the District Championsh­ips Saturday to Monday in Lillooet.
