Orchard House is getting up close and personal with the announcement of a new concert series.

The series showcases musical acts in an intimate setting, allowing for a live concert with a dance floor.

Orchard House, located at 157 Orchard Ave. in downtown Penticton, was converted from the Masonic Temple into a performance arts centre that is home to local dance schools as well as The Yard Katz, a local classic rock-blues band, who host a monthly blues jam at the House.

To kick-start the Up Close and Personal series, Orchard House has booked Wild T and the Spirit as its inaugural act this Friday. Hailing from Toronto, the power trio mixes blues, rock, funk and reggae.

The band has entertained audiences throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe for more than 25 years.

They have released seven albums over that time and shared the stage with big-name acts like Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Joe Bonamassa and Pat Travers to name a few.

Tickets are available at The Grooveyard, 239 Main St. in Penticton. Special guests, the Yard Katz, will start the evening off. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music starting at 7:30 p.m.
