Nissan makes customer’s Christmas with $10K prize
Penticton’s Ralph Torkel says he’s going to purchase a few lottery tickets this weekend as he hopes to continue his lucky streak after winning $10,000 from Penticton Nissan on Tuesday.
The new auto dealership, which opened in early March in the new Satikw Crossing on Green Avenue, decided to run a promotion to offer a $10,000 cash prize to anyone who purchased a new or used vehicle in the month of November.
With a crowd of about 50 customers and the full complement of dealership staff looking on, Torkel’s name was drawn.
“I’ve never won more than 20 bucks,” said Torkel, who purchased a 2018 Nissan Rogue SUV in the middle of November. “It’s especially nice to win some money with Christmas coming.”
Torkel was greeted by salesperson Mike Turner, who sold him his new vehicle.
Penticton Nissan general manager Scott Barber said it was his idea to hold the promotion and he thanked John Kot, owner of the Kot Auto Group, for supporting the promotion.
“I thought it would be a fun thing for us to do and show appreciation for all of our customers who have supported us since we opened in March,” he said.
“We plan on doing something like this once a year moving forward.”
