40% of Penticton riding has now voted

With just one day to go, Elections BC had screened electoral reform ballots from 39.6 per cent of eligible voters in the Penticton riding. That works out to 18,329 ballots.

The agency also reported Thursday it had screened ballots from 39.4 per cent of eligible voters – or 13,942 people – in BoundarySi­milkameen.

Province-wide, the figure stood at 35.4 per cent. Return rates ranged from a high of 50.3 per cent in Saanich North and the Islands to a low of 21.5 per cent in SurreyGree­n Timbers.

Ballots must be received by Elections BC by 4:30 p.m. today to be counted
