Santa’s helpers heading to Queen’s Park Monday

Penticton Herald - - OKANAGAN-SIMILKAMEEN -

The “elves” of Edina Chapter No. 33 Order of the Easter Star are busy preparing for their seventh annual Santa Store at Queen’s Park Elementary School on Monday.

Members and friends of the Order donate gently used items as suitable gifts the children will purchase for family members — even their pets.

The elves sort and price — from 25 cents to $1 — each item for the store. And when the store opens, they help kids pick the perfect gifts, which are then wrapped for them to take home and place under the tree.

The event is a learning experience for the kids and proceeds help support the Order’s annual $500 scholarship for a graduate of Penticton Secondary School.
