Customers must demand better

In case readers missed the CBC news the morning of Jan. 10, the station did a report on the out-of-control use of plastics in grocery stores.

Only 11 per cent of the plastic we recycle gets reprocessed, the remainder mostly gets shipped to third world countries (mainly Malaysia) where it gets burned or left in mountainous piles to be vulnerable to dispersal by tornadoes and floods (yes, right into the oceans). A grocery store in Britain told their suppliers to change their
