- By MELANIE EKSAL

Multi-platinum band Breaking Benjamin and Asking Alexandria will be playing the South Okanagan Events Centre April 13 as a part of Power 104’s POWERBALL annual rock bash.

Breaking Benjamin and Asking Alexandria will be joined by The Wild! and Diamante, which recently featured in past SOEC’s visitor Bad Wolves’ song “Hear Me Now.”

To date, Breaking Benjamin has sold 241,000 copies of their self-produced album titled “EMBER,” which snagged No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 last April and has two No. 1 hits at Active Rock Radio.

“Torn in Two,” one of their most recent No. 1 hits, is the band’s ninth No. 1 song to date.

Their previous album, “Dark Before Dawn,” reached No. 1 in 2015 after its release, six years after their “Dear Agony” went platinum and reached No. 4. Their album “Phobia,” which was released in 2006, hit No. 2 on the Billboard.

Asking Alexandria, who have most recently been touring with the band Shinedown, has earned the title of one of the most watched, streamed, downloaded and listened to bands in a generation.

Their two singles, “The Final Episode” and “Not the American Average,” have together amassed over 100 million views on YouTube. The band has hit over 100 million more views with their three songs, “The Death of Me,” “Moving On” and “A Prophecy.”
