TC Auto rallies to double PLK

Ben Cougny scored four goals and two assists and TC Auto overcame a 4-0 deficit to double Penticton Lock and Key 10-5 in Bad Tattoo Brewery Masters Indoor Soccer League play on Sunday at the Adidas Sportsplex.

Carlos Mendonca had a hat-trick, Peter Toth two goals and two assists and James Fofonoff a single goal for TCA, which trailed 4-3 at the break. Darryl Pace chipped in two assists.

Vlado Zamecnik scored twice, Zico Pescada tallied a goal and three helpers and Rick Morgan and Peter Ruocco also clicked for PLK. Rob Kroeker added a pair of helpers.

In the early game, Ron Dirksen scored twice and Dave Hewer bounced the winner in off a defender on the last kick of the game as Harvey-Lister-Webb overcame Theos 5-4.

Mark McKinlay and Al Manning also scored and Jerry Goncalves tacked on two assists for first-place HLW.

Michael Beliveau with two, Patrick Buchanan with a memorable first goal against his goalkeepin­g coach Tom McGill and Dave Crompton in his season debut scored for Theos. Mike Weckel logged a pair of helpers and also hit two crossbars in a matter of seconds late in the game.

HLW continues to lead the way with a 9-20-1 record for 28 points, TC Auto is hanging close at 7-4-1 for 23 points, PLK has 14 points and Theos 7.

Pescada leads the scoring race with 21 goals and 46 points with Toth second at 36 points.

In games this Sunday, Theos takes on PLK at 10 a.m., and TC Auto faces HLW in a pivotal matchup at 11:10 a.m.
