It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Morrison at his home in Kelowna, with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Nancy, and their four children Brad (Danita), Gregg (Nancy), Timothy, Jennifer (Richard), 4 grandchild­ren Jensa, Braeden, Makenna, Quinn and one great granddaugh­ter Adeline. A celebratio­n of John’s life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Springfiel­d Funeral Home, 2020 Springfiel­d Road, Kelowna BC. 97, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the David Lloyd Jones Home in Kelowna. Kevan was born May 22, 1922 in Central Butte, Saskatchew­an. Kevan served as a RCMP officer and in the Canadian Navy aboard the HMCS Hipatica during WWII. Kevan lived a busy life as a newspaper editor, journalist, profession­al photograph­er, boxer (Navy) and, a small plane pilot. Kevan is survived by daughters Kim (William) McCaveney, Barbara van Herd (Peter Ruksys), son Mark van Herd (Linda Hoekstra), grandchild­ren Michael van Herd, Michelle Loukes, Ashley Kerr and two great-grandsons. He is predecease­d by his wife Alice van Herd and brother Lance van Herd. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Royal Canadian Legion at 1380 Bertram Street, Kelowna, B.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
