Rail Trail work to last 4 weeks

-

Upgrades to the Okanagan Rail Trail are right on track.

Sections of the recreational trail owned by the Regional District of North Okanagan will be under maintenance after the Labour Day long weekend for the next four weeks, according to a press release Friday.

One-way pedestrian and biking traffic will be in effect in certain areas of the trail during construction, some of which will be erosion protection from damage caused by flooding in 2017.

The trail will be only a single lane Sept. 3-15 and open on weekends. Some access points will be closed entirely from morning until 5 p.m. Sept. 16-27.

The RDNO said the trail will continue to be open after 5 p.m. and on weekends, and can still be accessed at the Coldstream parking lot or the RDNO parking lot on Bailey Road.
