Spotlight on our community and its residents at Sunset Ranch

-

Lea Ann and Gary D. have been a part of Sunset Ranch since August of 2016. They relocated from Ontario where they raised their family. Growing up, coming to the Okanagan was a yearly summer holiday for Lea Anne and she always felt like Kelowna was home.

Today we interview Lea Anne and Gary about how they are enjoying life at the ranch.

AC: What brought you out to Kelowna and Sunset Ranch?

LD: Kelowna always felt like home to me. We love the weather. We were not running away from Ontario, we were running towards Kelowna for the lifestyle. We didn’t anticipate just how much of a good change this would be!

AC: Tell me about a typical day at Sunset Ranch?

LD: Being retired, it starts with relaxing over coffee and the views. It’s so peaceful out here. Then, full on activities like golf, bike rides, lunch at a winery etc. The list is endless. We end the day with a glass of wine on the deck.

AC: How does it compare to where you lived before?

LD: No comparison, we got out of the rat race! The view was a bonus. We didn’t know we wanted this spectacular view until we had it.

AC: What specifically do you do more of now that you live out here at Sunset Ranch?

LD: Golf and socializing in general. Card games, girl’s nights, couples nights. We have lunch to celebrate birthdays. It’s crazy fun!

AC: Who have you met here that you spend a lot of time with?

LD: We’ve met so many wonderful people out here and it’s only been 3 years. The list is long. Stephanie and Linda for golf. Chris and Jody, Linda and Josie for cards. I consider all of them great friends.

AC: What part of the view is most beautiful to you?

LD: The sunset that overlooks the golf course. But also the view out front because all the neighbors come by to visit. I know it sounds cheesy but the view of the neighborhood surprised me the most.

AC: What is your favorite part of your home?

LD: Well, we are sitting in it (as we sip coffee at the oversized kitchen island). You can see it all from here.

AC: What would you say to someone considering Sunset Ranch?

LD: You’re not just buying a home, your buying into a community. You’re going to be happier than you thought.

AC: What are you most excited about for the future out at Sunset Ranch? LD: Just meeting more of the people as they move in. We have great block parties!
