The following article contains some strong language. Reader discretion is highly advised. him and his dog for an extended period, while alleging that he was stalking her, the lawsuit alleges.

The pregnant employee requested peace bonds be ordered against the Beslers in a subsequent letter to the RCMP.

“I believe the burnout June 2, 2019 incident caused some trauma and anxiety … I am uneasy and jumpy every time I hear a diesel truck. These are what I identified as my triggers.”

The peace bond wasn’t just for her benefit, “but for my friends, my family, and my growing fetus.”

Weeks later, near the property line, she was heard referring to the Beslers as “dipshits” who have the “brain of a one-yearold.”

Come July 2019, charges were pressed which ordered the Beslers to have no contact with the mushroom people.

The pregnant employee wrote to the RCMP again in September 2019, claiming the intimidation and harassment had continued. “All I could think about was my husband getting killed and my baby wouldn’t have a dad.”

She called Besler’s sanity into question. “I would like to request a psychological evaluation of Brad Besler as I believe he has a personality disorder similar to being a psychopath.”

She also took a shot at his ego -- “inflation of self-worth shows when he chooses to self-represent himself in court.”

Then she made new complaints the her child was born.

“He can see all the intimate moments, I have with my daughter, like breastfeeding, putting her to sleep, changing her diaper … I am afraid for my life. I am afraid for my husband’s life. I am afraid for my baby’s life. I am scared that these people will come to Thor’s property to hurt us or vandalize.”

An arborist who knew Besler and Clausen prior to their conflict sided with the mushroom farmers.

“Beauty dogs,” he said to Besler on Instagram. “I remember when mine and yours used to meet up out Garnett way. Didn’t realize you were such a psychopath. You need help man.”

It’s possible that Besler is a homosexual who’s “hot after (mushroom farm workers’) cock,” Clauson allegedly told two of his employees on Aug. 17, 2019.

Other letters submitted to the RCMP accuse the Beslers’ surveillance system of recording a minor, and said there was reason to believe the cameras were being used to case out the farm, where millions of dollars worth of equipment was stored.

The fight between Besler and Clausen began over the local bylaws that applied to the mushroom farm, and it just keeps going -- Besler has lodged fresh accusations of Clausen operating his farm in violation of local bylaws over the past two years, while the new mother made new accusations that the Beslers’ were misusing their surveillance equipment again.

The mushroom farmers complained to the RCMP again in March 2023, but that police file was eventually “terminated in favour of the plaintiffs.”

In May 2023, Besler installed a sign on his side of the fence that “outlined the ongoing violations” of the mushroom farm.

The Beslers’ lawsuit claims the brothers suffered “stress, anxiety, fear, humiliation, shock, sadness, distress, damaged self-confidence, lowered self- esteem; loss of reputation, loss of enjoyment life, and loss of enjoyment of property” because of their neighbours.

The Beslers had their credibility damaged by the defendants, whose “false and malicious” statements were amplified through media coverage.

“The damage from the Defendants’ malicious prosecution was so severe that RCMP members violated their disclosure obligations in bad faith in a malicious attempt to convict the Plaintiffs. The RCMP. added “Caution: Violent” to the Plaintiffs’ (police file) in 2019 based solely on the malicious statements from the Defendants.”

Separate from the lawsuit, Besler also lodged a complaint against two Summerland RCMP officers.

The brothers are seeking $800,000 each plus costs.

The defendants have not yet responded to the lawsuit and none of the allegations have been tested in court. after
