Under control of government

-

Dear Editor:

With all of the push from our federal and provincial governments to force us to totally abandon fossil fuels for all processes and go electrical, a thought occurred to me.

You know how we all bitch about oil company collusion when it comes to gas prices? Well, consider this. When this supposedly, new green deal is done and your ability to travel, heat your home, power your lights and appliances all rely on electricity, who totally controls you and your standard of living?

Your government does.

By the one single source of power of which government has total control. Total control to limit your usage and your travel.

Total control to ration you under the guise of conserving the power grid of which we have already seen indications of capacity problems. Total control to tax you for your usage.

It’s a known fact that our power system in energy rich B.C., won’t be able to keep up to this forced conversion time line, and yet our activist NDP government still methodically and unquestioningly pushes it, to supposedly save the planet.

But of course, in this new green world, the weather will be perfect, hitting only average temperatures every day with the average amount of precipitation and no more forest fires, right?

Polls show that Canadian’s trust in government is at an all-time low. For good reason. A few short years ago we faced draconian control of our lives during the so-called pandemic, that impacted every aspect of our lives, including our economic and personal freedom well being.

Our governments had way too much control and abused it. So we want to give them more?
