IN MEMORY OF WILLIAM (Bill/Archie) ARCHIBALD 1927 to 2024

Bill (Archie) passed away peacefully on 27th February 2024 at the Kimberley Special Care Home (The Pines) in Kimberley BC just two weeks after his 97th birthday.

Archie was born in Kimberley on 10 February 1927 to Barbara and Archie Archibald, the fourth of 5 children. He managed to survive 4 sisters, 2 wars, 3 wives, and 4 teenagers. In his life he was a soldier (received the Quilt of Valour for his service in 2022), a door-to-door salesman, a hard rock miner, and an iron plant worker. An industrial accident in the 60's and subsequent retraining led him to his lifelong passion - safety and first aid. He was known as "Mr. First Aid" in the Kootenay area and worked, trained many first aiders and ambulance attendants and volunteered in the field. One of his proudest moments was the ability to attend the Kimberley Ambulance Society's 50 Year Reunion as one of the founding members. He was 90 years young at the time.

He was predeceased by his parents Barbara and Archie, his best friend and love of his life, Peggy; his companion in later years, Isabel; his sisters, Margaret, May, Barb and June (and their spouses); daughter-in-law Darcy and granddaughter Colleen.

He is survived by and will be missed by his children: Linda (Ed); Norm; Ruth; and Debbie (Al) as well as his adopted Pilipino family in Calgary (the Aguilars) and Isabel's family: Greg (Jenny); Warren (Shelley); Donna (Bernie) and Donald as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friends Janet, Pearl and Lynn in the Okanagan.

At Archie's request there will not be a formal service. Instead, in honor of his memory, please take a moment, raise a glass of your favourite beverage and toast to "A Life Well Lived!!!". His sharp wit, humor and the twinkle in his eye will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the staff at Garden View Village, The Kimberley Special Care Home and Dr. Bucar for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Dad during his final years.
