Noynoy denies heart procedures, jests he’s ‘heartbroken’
AFTER A media outlet reported on Monday, December 9 that former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was rushed to the hospital to undergo a heart procedure, his former spokesperson denied the claim.
DZRH earlier tweeted that Aquino was reportedly at Makati Medical Center for a heart procedure.
Abigail Valte, his former mouthpiece confirmed that he is in the said hospital but only for a “scheduled check-up and a routine procedure.”
Valte further said that Aquino is “currently under observation.”
“I was able to speak to him and apprise him of what is being reported in media. Nagbiro pa na baka daw kaya heart procedure ang balita kasi heartbroken siya (He even jested that perhaps the reason why the news reported that he would undergo a heart procedure was because he is heartbroken),” she explained.
Valte did not elaborate on other details of the former president’s health status, but said that, “He’s alright and in high spirits, and thanks everyone for their concern.”
Aquino’s health, during his presidential term, has been a subject of public concern because of the position especially when he was known to be a smoker. ■
