Welcome to the first issue of Prairie Fire’s fortieth year!

This issue’s special feature is Everyday Love. A call for submissions to Everyday Love ran for five weeks and resulted in 400 submissions, making it our most popular call ever! So much good work was submitted that our editors had a tough time making the final selection. I hope you enjoy reading their choices as much as I did.

This summer, Prairie Fire will mark its 40th birthday! With the help of The Winnipeg Foundation, we’ll take a look back at the early days of PF (when it was Writers News Manitoba), and explore the present by publishing Winnipeg-based writers who have never appeared in PF before! As well, we will feature the winners of the Prairie Fire/ McNally Robinson Booksellers 2017 writing contests. Please join us for this celebratory issue!
