Another busy weekend for Swift Current RCMP

The following is a synopsis of calls for service by the Swift Current RCMP for the dates indicated:

2018-JULY-13

4:23 PM - Report of someone riding a dirt bike in the parking lot of a dwelling unit on the 500 block of 6th Avenue N.E. erraticall­y and then parked it partially on the grass and sidewalk.

5:26 PM - Report of an adult male breaching the conditions of his undertakin­g by having contact with the female caller. The male and the female happened to arrive at the same location by coincidenc­e. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.

5:43 PM - Report of an abandoned dirt bike on 8th Avenue N.E. Detachment staff made attempts to contact the registered owner of the dirt bike.

6:41 PM - Report of a hold up alarm at a business on the 100 block of North Service Road E. Officers attended and determined the alarm to be false and no emergency was taking place.

6:55 PM - Report of 23-year-old Jody Smith wanted by Swift Current City RCMP possibly residing at an apartment complex on Matador Drive. Swift Current City RCMP are still asking for the public to assist with locating two wanted men. 18-year-old Cole Ross and 23year-old Jody Smith are wanted on arrest warrants for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Ross is described as Caucasian, approximat­ely 5'7", slim build with blue eyes and reddish-brown hair.

Smith is described as Caucasian, approximat­ely 5'6", slim build with hazel eyes and brown hair. The RCMP are cautioning the public should they attempt to approach them. Anyone with informatio­n regarding either subject is being asked to contact the Swift Current City RCMP at 306-778-4870.

8:31 PM - Report of the caller's brother having his dirt bike stolen sometime during the day from his garage on the 600 block of 4th Avenue N.W. The dirt bike matched the descriptio­n of the bike that had been abandoned and reported to police earlier in the day. Officers returned to the dirt bike to its owner.

9:06 PM - Report of teenagers on the roof of a residence on Buffalo Drive. Officers attended and the teenagers were having a pool party while their parents were out of town. Warnings were given to the teens by officers and the parents were notified.

8:13 AM - Report of a burglary alarm at business on the O block of Central Avenue N. Officers attended and determined the alarm to be false.

12:21 PM - Report of a blue Chevrolet Silverado with an intoxicate­d adult male driver passed out in the driver's seat after hitting a power pole on the South Service Road E. Officers and EMS attended the scene. The male driver blew a warning with police and was issued a 60-day driving suspension. No criminal charges were laid in relation to the incident.

2: 16 PM - Report of someone entering his residence and stealing his wallet from beneath his hat on the 300 block of 10th Avenue N.W. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

2:41 PM - Report of mail being gone through on the 400 block of 5th Avenue N.W. The caller had located his mail in a planter in his back yard and it had all been opened. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

3:38 PM - Report of a two-vehicle collision where a motorcycle rear-ended a white Ford Escape. There were reported injuries and one vehicle was from out of Province. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.

4:57 PM - Report of an adult male breaching the conditions of his court ordered probation by not abiding by his curfew. 31-year-old Justin Armstrong was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with one count of breaching his probation order. Armstrong appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court July 16.

4:59 PM - Request from an adult female wanting the hours of operation for the Swift Current Court House as she wanted to get a restrainin­g order on a male who will not stop yelling and swearing at her on the telephone when he calls. The female was advised she could attend the Detachment to speak to an officer and provide a statement for investigat­ion but she refused and only wanted to speak with the Courts.

5:17 PM - 911 call of a black Cadillac DTS speeding & swerving all over the road on the #4 Highway coming into Swift Current. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. No impairment of the male driver was observed and he was issued a warning for speeding.

6:08 PM - Report of a suspicious male walking down the alley of the 400 block of 4th Avenue S.E. looking into neighbours yards. The male was described as in his 30's, heavy set, wearing a black shirt, black hat and blue jeans. While officers were on patrol looking for the male they received a call back stating the suspicious male is his neighbour who was looking for a missing pet.

6:29 PM - Report of a male contacting the female caller by telephone multiple times after she has asked him to stop. The female had contacted the Detachment earlier in the day and was again uncooperat­ive with wanting police involvemen­t. Officers spoke with the female on the phone to make attempts to come into the Detachment and she advised she would think about it. The next day the female contacted the office to decline officer assistance.

12: 19 AM -911 call from a male reporting he believes his bicycle was just stolen off his deck on the 100 block of Grey Street W. The male reported that he heard his girlfriend's bicycle fall over and when he went outside his was gone. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

12:20 AM - Report of someone knocking on the female caller's back window on the 600 block of 4th Avenue N.W. Officers attended the residence and did not locate anyone outside the residence and nothing appeared to be out of place or missing from outside the home or yard.

12:58 AM -911 call of loud music on the O block of Hayes Drive keeping the male caller and his family awake. Officers attended the location but could not hear any loud music coming from the residence. The caller was advised to contact the property owner about any ongoing issues with the noise.

5:01 AM - Report of a noise complaint on the 100 block of Allen Drive. The female caller stated there is a group of young males playing basketball and are being very loud. She asked them to be quiet with no success. Officers made patrols of the area but were unable to locate any one playing basketball and heard no noise.

8:37 AM - 911 call of a possibly intoxicate­d male sleeping in a dark colored Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of a location on the 600 block of 6th Avenue S.E. Officers attended and located the male who advised he was waiting for a friend to pick him up. The male was given a warning about impaired care and control of a motor vehicle.

6:31 PM - Report of a Facebook post identifyin­g an older half ton truck driving up and down alleys on 2nd Avenue S.E. looking into people’s yards. The person posting this wanted the public to be aware. Officers later found out that this had occurred in the early morning hours. At this time nothing has been reported stolen to police.

8: 17 PM - Report from a female stating she was going to pick up a family member who was waiting at a business on the 100 block of North Service Road E. who had smoked some marijuana that didn't agree with them. Officers contacted EMS that meet them at the location and transporte­d the family member to the hospital. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

8:40 PM - Report of an argument between two females on the 400 block of 2nd Avenue N.E. Officers attended the location and one of the females who was intoxicate­d was asked to leave. She left without further incident.

10: 12 PM - Report from a repossessi­on company advising they would be taking possession of a grey Dodge Ram 1500 in the event the truck owner contacts the Detachment.
