- CONTRIBUTED

On Sept. 21, Swift Current’s Community Services Division, in partnership with Stark & Marsh and Innovation Credit Union, will be celebrating the 10th annual Go Green Friday event.

Swift Current’s open spaces will be transformed thanks to the hard work of community volunteers and funding support from Stark & Marsh and Innovation Credit Union.

This year, some of the highlights include the beautification of local green spaces, as well as planting and maintaining of the flower beds, along with a Memorial Bench and Plaque dedicated to Anthea Loren at the Rose Gardens.

The objective this year is to assist in preparing our community for the Western Canada Summer Games, which take place in August of 2019.

Over the past 9 years, Go Green Friday volunteers have shown great commitment and dedication to our city. They have assisted in environmental cleanup, planting and mulching of trees and much more.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ashley Belon with Stark & Marsh at 306-773-7285 or visit the Stark & Marsh website at www.starkmarsh.com. If you are unable to volunteer, we invite you to attend the barbecue at 12 p.m at Market Square. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association Swift Current Branch.
