Anderson sponsors e-Petition 1886 calling on government to reverse McClintic transfer

Prairie Post (East Edition) - - Saskatchewan - CONTRIBUTED

David Anderson, MP for Cypress Hills--Grasslands has sponsored an e-petition for constituents who are concerned about the transfer of convicted child murderer Terri-Lynne McClintic to the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge in Maple Creek, SK.

“My office has received multiple calls and emails from constituents voicing their concern and anger over the decision by Corrections Canada to transfer the woman that murdered eight year old Tori Stafford to our area. This petition creates a means for residents to send a strong message to the Prime Minister and Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale that this is not acceptable,” said Anderson.

On October 3, the Liberals defeated a Conservative motion calling on the government to send McClintic back to Ontario.

“This Prime Minister and his MPs continue to resist our calls to put McClintic back behind bars. Trudeau and his Liberals failed the people of Maple Creek and area, and the Stafford family, by refusing to do the right thing. The government has the moral, legal and political authority to act to correct this injustice,” Anderson concluded.
