Fa­tal col­li­sion north of Maple Creek on Thanks­giv­ing week­end

RCMP Maple Creek mem­bers at­tended a fa­tal Oct. 7 col­li­sion.

On Sun­day at 7:59 p.m. Maple Creek RCMP along with the Maple Creek Fire Depart­ment and EMS per­son­nel at­tended a se­ri­ous two-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion on High­way #21 ap­prox­i­mately 2 kms north of Maple Creek.

A 50 year old fe­male from Maple Creek who had been driv­ing one of the ve­hi­cles was pro­nounced de­ceased at the scene.

The 55 year old male driv­ing the sec­ond ve­hi­cle sus­tained life threat­en­ing in­juries and was trans­ported via STARS air am­bu­lance to hospi­tal in Regina. There were no other pas­sen­gers in the ve­hi­cles at the time of the col­li­sion.

High­way #21 was blocked for sev­eral hours last night to al­low for an in­ves­ti­ga­tion and to clean up the col­li­sion scene. The high­way was re­opened hours later.
