SaskBooks ap­plauds li­brar­i­ans, school ad­min­is­tra­tors and teach­ers for the col­lab­o­ra­tive ef­fort to cel­e­brate and pro­mote lit­er­a­ture and pub­lish­ing in Saskatchewan dur­ing Saskatchewan Book Pub­lish­ing Week. From Septem­ber 24-28th many li­brar­i­ans, schools ad­min­is­tra­tors, pro­gram­ming clerks, Ex­ec­u­tive As­sis­tants and teach­ers opened their doors to host events for Saskatchewan Book Pub­lish­ing Week 2018 in cel­e­bra­tion of Saskatchewan pub­lish­ing and lit­er­a­ture.

Book Pub­lish­ing Week 2018 was a four day tour that vis­ited three com­mu­nity li­braries, two post-se­condary in­sti­tu­tions, a care home, and five First Na­tions El­e­men­tary Schools for a to­tal of eleven live lit­er­ary events across Saskatchewan, three on­line video in­ter­views fea­tur­ing ten au­thors and rep­re­sent­ing nine dif­fer­ent pub­lish­ing houses.

SaskBooks is the provin­cial cre­ative in­dus­try as­so­ci­a­tion for small and in­de­pen­dent book pub­lish­ing busi­nesses in Saskatchewan. 2018 marks SaskBooks’ 30th year of cel­e­brat­ing all the in­cred­i­ble books pub­lished right here in the province. The orig­i­nal Saskatchewan Book Pub­lish­ing week, first de­clared by the Min­is­ter of Parks, Cul­ture, and Sport in 2016, cel­e­brated the 40th an­niver­saries of Coteau Books and This­tle­down Press, two of the province’s anchor lit­er­ary pub­lish­ers.
