SaskBooks excited about Sask. Book Publishing Week results
SaskBooks applauds librarians, school administrators and teachers for the collaborative effort to celebrate and promote literature and publishing in Saskatchewan during Saskatchewan Book Publishing Week. From September 24-28th many librarians, schools administrators, programming clerks, Executive Assistants and teachers opened their doors to host events for Saskatchewan Book Publishing Week 2018 in celebration of Saskatchewan publishing and literature.
Book Publishing Week 2018 was a four day tour that visited three community libraries, two post-secondary institutions, a care home, and five First Nations Elementary Schools for a total of eleven live literary events across Saskatchewan, three online video interviews featuring ten authors and representing nine different publishing houses.
SaskBooks is the provincial creative industry association for small and independent book publishing businesses in Saskatchewan. 2018 marks SaskBooks’ 30th year of celebrating all the incredible books published right here in the province. The original Saskatchewan Book Publishing week, first declared by the Minister of Parks, Culture, and Sport in 2016, celebrated the 40th anniversaries of Coteau Books and Thistledown Press, two of the province’s anchor literary publishers. If you are a librarian or school administrator who is interested to participate next year, please contact SaskBooks over email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 1-306-780-9811.
