One-of-a-kind ex­pe­ri­ences be­ing auc­tioned at Medalta black and white gala

Have you ever had a pri­vate cook­ing les­son with your own per­sonal chef ? Or dined in a 100 year old can­dlelit kiln?

Here’s your chance to out­bid oth­ers for some of the most ex­clu­sive op­por­tu­ni­ties Medicine Hat has to of­fer – all while sup­port­ing the her­itage and growth of the cul­tural econ­omy in our com­mu­nity.

On Oc­to­ber 20th, Medalta will host their an­nual Black and White Gala, the swanki­est night of the year and a fundraiser that accounts for 5.5% of Medalta’s op­er­at­ing in­come.

With the help of these highly sought af­ter auc­tion items, the 2017 gala proved to be their most suc­cess­ful yet with over $107,000 raised.

This year, new ex­pe­ri­ences have been added to the docket like a ‘Brews and Bites’ ex­pe­ri­ence at Medicine Hat Brew Co and a cook­ing les­son at the newly opened Artist Lodge with CAMP Cook­house, along with trusty clas­sics like a Jim Mar­shall Mu­ral and a ‘Pot­tery Night’ ex­pe­ri­ence for you and 7 of your clos­est friends.

Den­nis Sch­nei­der can at­test to the qual­ity of these items, as he and his wife LaDonna suc­cess­fully bid for the ‘Din­ner in a Kiln’ ex­pe­ri­ence year af­ter year, last year be­com­ing the first time the ex­pe­ri­ence was of­fered twice. Den­nis says, “[It is] a fan­tas­ti­cally unique culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ence! No dis­ap­point­ments here... def­i­nitely bid on this! And if your bid is not the win­ning one, quickly make friends with the win­ners!”

The menu is al­ways quite elab­o­rate, with items like fried quail, drink pair­ings, manchego crum­pet, and home­made bay leaf ice cream.

With­out this event and its spon­sors like Pul­man-Fillmore, Medalta would not be able to serve the over 44,000 vis­i­tors, 6,000 stu­dents, and 40 pro­fes­sional artists per year that it cur­rently does.
