One-of-a-kind experiences being auctioned at Medalta black and white gala
Have you ever had a private cooking lesson with your own personal chef ? Or dined in a 100 year old candlelit kiln?
Here’s your chance to outbid others for some of the most exclusive opportunities Medicine Hat has to offer – all while supporting the heritage and growth of the cultural economy in our community.
On October 20th, Medalta will host their annual Black and White Gala, the swankiest night of the year and a fundraiser that accounts for 5.5% of Medalta’s operating income.
With the help of these highly sought after auction items, the 2017 gala proved to be their most successful yet with over $107,000 raised.
This year, new experiences have been added to the docket like a ‘Brews and Bites’ experience at Medicine Hat Brew Co and a cooking lesson at the newly opened Artist Lodge with CAMP Cookhouse, along with trusty classics like a Jim Marshall Mural and a ‘Pottery Night’ experience for you and 7 of your closest friends.
Dennis Schneider can attest to the quality of these items, as he and his wife LaDonna successfully bid for the ‘Dinner in a Kiln’ experience year after year, last year becoming the first time the experience was offered twice. Dennis says, “[It is] a fantastically unique culinary experience! No disappointments here... definitely bid on this! And if your bid is not the winning one, quickly make friends with the winners!”
The menu is always quite elaborate, with items like fried quail, drink pairings, manchego crumpet, and homemade bay leaf ice cream.
Without this event and its sponsors like Pulman-Fillmore, Medalta would not be able to serve the over 44,000 visitors, 6,000 students, and 40 professional artists per year that it currently does.
If you’re interested in attending this ‘creative black tie’ gala, please contact Executive Director Aaron Nelson to purchase your tickets ($125 ea).
