Swift Current RCMP issue inspection tickets for tinted windows
The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:
4:10 PM -Report of children screeching at a female youth. This has been on-going for two years. This matter is still under investigation.
5: 18 PM -Report of a vehicle operating as a taxi cab in Swift Current, but is unlicensed. This matter is still under investigation.
7:32 PM -911 open line at a location on the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue N.E. Officers were able to determine no emergency was taking place.
7:46 PM -While on patrol, an officer was flagged down by an individual stating there was a man bothering people at a business on the 100 block of Central Avenue N. The officer attended the location and spoke to the man who was then given a ride home.
8:40 PM -Report of two suspicious males on the the 400 block of Cowan Drive. They were well-dressed and had knocked on the caller's door but she did not answer so it was unknown what they wanted. Officers made patrols of the area but were unable to locate any males matching the description provided.
11:18 PM -Request to conduct a well being check on an adult female. Officers attended her residence but were not able to get an answer. Police received a call from the female shortly afterwards advising she was okay.
10:40 PM -While on patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado after it was observed driving somewhat erratically on Central Avenue N. Open alcohol was located in the vehicle. The adult male passenger was charged under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act.
11 :58 PM -Report of a suicidal youth. Officers located the youth at their residence in the care of their guardian.
2:00 AM -Report of a male breaching the conditions of his probation order by contacting the female caller who he is on conditions not to have contact with. This matter is still under investigation.
9:07 AM -Report of a hit and run to a brown Chevrolet Silverado. Officers later received another call advising that the owner of the vehicle that hit his vehicle had returned and left a note on the windshield. Both parties were advised to contact their insurance companies.
11 :50 AM -While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet Silverado. The driver was issued an inspection ticket to have their window tint removed.
2:08 PM -While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford F350. The driver of the vehicle was issued inspection tickets to have their window tint removed and have the windshield repaired and was also charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
2:37 PM -911 call of a possibly impaired driver in a purple Dodge truck leaving a location on the North Service Road. Officers made patrols but were not able to locate the vehicle.
3:36 PM -While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Ram. The driver was issued a warning ticket for holding, viewing, using or manipulating electronic communications equipment.
3:51 PM -While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver was issued a warning ticket for holding, viewing, using or manipulating electronic communications equipment.
4:23 PM -While on patrol, officers issued a warning ticket to a semi driver who was parked on the shoulder of the #1 Highway in a no parking zone.
4:35 PM -While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the vehicle was issued an inspection ticket to have their window tint removed.
5:23 PM -Report of a male knocking on the door of a location on the 700 block of 1st Avenue N.W. The female caller never answered the door as the location was not open to the public at the time. The male was carrying backpacks, wearing a camoflauge jacket, orange toque and riding a bicycle. The male had left however the female caller wanted an escort to her vehicle. Officers attended and assisted the female to her vehicle.
6:12 PM -Report of a black Pontiac Grand Prix on 1st Avenue N.W. who sped past the caller, cut him off and then proceeded to give him the finger. Once at the stop sign the Grand Prix then sped away spinning rocks onto the caller's vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.
8:13 PM -Report of a riding lawn mower in the middle of 11th Avenue N.E. Youth were seen running away from it. Officers attended and located three youth. The owner of the mower was contacted and advised he'd been doing work in the area and had left the mower unsupervised and he would attend to collect his property.
1 :34 AM -Report of a suicidal individual. Officers attended the individual's residence and determined he was not suicidal, he was upset about a break up. Officers provided the individual with a phone number in the event he needed to speak to a professional.
2:20 AM -While at an event on 17th Avenue S.E., officers came across a fight between two adult males. One male knocked down another and then proceeded to punch him one more time in the head.The adult male was arrested. Both males were spoken to once sober and neither wanted charges laid.
9:54 AM -Report of a found cellphone on 17th Avenue S.E. The cellphone had been located in a jacket that had been left at an event taking place the night prior and turned into the Detachment. The phone was returned to it's owner.
12:31 PM -Report of a suicidal individual. Officers attended the residence and the individual was transported to the hospital with EMS for evaluation.
3:27 PM -Request to conduct well-being check on an adult female. Officers attended the residence and located the female who had fallen down several stairs. The female was transported to the hospital with EMS.
4:53 PM -Request from a business on the 600 block of North Service Road E. to remove a customer who is refusing to leave. Officers attended and the male left without further incident.
7:05 PM -Report of a very loud band practice on the 200 block of 6th Avenue N.W. that had been going on for four hours. Officers made patrols of the area but could not hear any noise. Upon contacting the caller she advised the music had quit right after she had contacted police.
7:35 PM -911 call of a disturbance on the 300 block of MacDonald Drive. The caller stated they can hear the neighbours fighting and banging on the house. Officers attended the residence and spoke to the involved parties who advised no assault had taken place, they had been having a verbal argument.
11:14 PM -Report of an alarm at a business on the 100 block of North Service Road E. Officers attended & determined the alarm to be false.
