Swift Cur­rent RCMP: semi driv­ers re­ceive tick­ets, warn­ing about il­le­gal park­ing

The fol­low­ing is a synopsis of Swift Cur­rent RCMP calls for ser­vice for the dates in­di­cated:

2018-NO­VEM­BER-23

4:23 PM - Re­port of a pos­si­ble im­paired driver leav­ing a busi­ness on Memo­rial Drive in a green Dodge Car­a­van. Of­fi­cers were able to lo­cate the ve­hi­cle and de­ter­mined the driver was im­paired by al­co­hol. An adult fe­male will be charged with im­paired driv­ing.

6:33 PM - Re­port of a traf­fic hazard on the #1 High­way. The caller al­most hit a semi parked that was hard to see due to the lights on the semi be­ing dirty. The semi driver was charged un­der the Traf­fic Safety Act for park­ing in a no park­ing zone.

8:03 PM - Re­port of a neigh­bour in a dwelling unit on the O block of Hayes Drive play­ing loud mu­sic and yelling. Of­fi­cers at­tended the lo­ca­tion and could not hear any mu­sic. The po­lice did speak to the home owner and was ad­vised of the com­plaint that had been re­ceived in re­gards to their home.

10:18 PM -While on pa­trol of­fi­cers is­sued a ticket to a semi driver for park­ing in a no park­ing zone on the #1 High­way.

10:29 PM -While on pa­trol of­fi­cers is­sued a ticket to a semi driver for park­ing in a no park­ing zone on North Ser­vice Road W.

10:58 PM -While on pa­trol of­fi­cers ob­served a grey Dodge Ram fail to stop at a stop sign. The adult male driver was charged un­der the Traf­fic Safety Act.

2018-NO­VEM­BER-24

2:52 AM -911 call of a pos­si­ble im­paired driver on South Ser­vice Road E. in a black GMC Sierra. Of­fi­cers made pa­trols but were un­able to lo­cate the ve­hi­cle. A se­cond call was later re­ceived that the ve­hi­cle was parked at a com­mer­i­cal dwelling unit on North Ser­vice Road E. Of­fi­cers at­tended but no one was around the ve­hi­cle.

7:07 AM - Re­port of peo­ple out­side the caller’s home on the 200 block of 4th Av­enue N.W. The caller stated he was legally blind so he could not see the peo­ple but had taken pic­tures with his phone and then ad­vised he could see flashes com­ing from out­side. Of­fi­cers made pa­trols of the area but were un­able to lo­cate any­one near the area.

2:40 PM - Re­port of a lost jacket from last Sun­day that also had a set of keys in it.

3:09 PM - Re­port of a traf­fic hazard on the 700 block of South Ser­vice Road E. There was a semi parked on the side of the road and the traf­fic go­ing around it, the caller be­lieved was go­ing to cause an ac­ci­dent. Of­fi­cers at­tended and spoke to the driver of the semi who was is­sued a ver­bal warn­ing for park­ing in a no park­ing zone.

3:30 PM - Re­port of a white Chevro­let Im­pala that tried to get up a hill on 6th Av­enue N.W. the night prior and had slid back­wards and is now parked over the curb. The of­fi­cers spoke with the driver who was no­ti­fied to have the ve­hi­cle moved. A short time later of­fi­cers made a pa­trol past the area and the ve­hi­cle was gone.

5:41 PM -Re­port of three youth walk­ing down the street and are be­lieved to be drink­ing al­co­hol. Of­fi­cers at­tended the lo­ca­tion and found the youth who were drink­ing cream so­das, not al­co­hol.

7: 15 PM -911 call of a sui­ci­dal in­di­vid­ual. Of­fi­cers and EMS at­tended the in­di­vid­ual’s lo­ca­tion and they were trans­ported to hospi­tal by EMS for eval­u­a­tion.

10:36 PM -While on pa­trols of­fi­cers is­sued a ticket to a semi driver for park­ing in the no park­ing zone on the #1 High­way.

10:49 PM -While con­duct­ing a traf­fic stop on a ve­hi­cle of­fi­cers were passed by a white Volvo who failed to slow when pass­ing emer­gency ve­hi­cles. The driver of the ve­hi­cle was charged un­der the Traf­fic Safety Act.

11 :04 PM -While on pa­trols of­fi­cers is­sued an in­spec­tion ticket to the driver of a red Chevro­let Sil­ver­ado to bring proof of tail lights be­ing ap­proved for use in Saskatchew­an.

11: 14 PM -911 call of a col­li­sion on 13th Av­enue S.E. where a Ford F150 hit a parked ve­hi­cle and then crashed into a res­i­dence. An adult male will be charged with im­paired driv­ing. This mat­ter is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

2018-NO­VEM­BER-25

1: 13 AM -Re­port of the call­ers ex­hus­band con­tin­u­ing to ha­rass her and tres­pass­ing on her prop­erty. This mat­ter is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

2:50 AM -While on pa­trols of­fi­cers ar­rested an adult male for be­ing in­tox­i­cated in pub­lic, who was later re­leased once sober. No crim­i­nal charges were laid in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent.

3: 10 AM -Re­port of two teenagers be­ing in front of the call­ers res­i­dence. It was un­known what they were do­ing, the caller chased them away but wanted po­lice made aware of what oc­cured.

10:35 AM - Re­port of threats be­ing ut­tered from an adult male in Que­bec to­wards the caller. This mat­ter is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

4 PM -Re­port of three de­ceased deer on the ice near the 13th Av­enue bridge. The City of Swift Cur­rent was no­ti­fied for re­moval of the deer.

6:09 PM -Re­quest to con­duct a well be­ing check on an adult fe­male. The fe­male was lo­cated alive & well at her res­i­dence.
