WONDERFUL:
The Swift Current Oratorio Choir's annual performance for the festive season took place at the Centre Street United Church in Shaunavon on Dec. 2 and at the Zion Mennonite Church in Swift Current, Dec. 3. The concert was titled “A Dylan Thomas Christmas” in reference to the book A Child's Christmas in Wales by Welsh author Dylan Thomas. The concert combined a collection of traditional and new arrangements of Christmas music with a reading of text from Thomas' nostalgic work about an idyllic Christmas. The narrators were Myra and John Leyshon. The choir was directed by Marcia McLean and the accompanist was Amy Wiens. The Swift Current Oratorio Choir is a community choir with members from all over southwest Saskatchewan. Choir members are preparing for an upcoming trip in January to New York, where they will to perform as part of an international choir at Carnegie Hall.
