Swift Cur­rent Bron­cos fans showed their gen­eros­ity by throw­ing hun­dreds of teddy bears, toques and mitts on the ice af­ter Fin­nish im­port Joona Kiviniemi scored the team's first goal in the first pe­riod against the Bran­don Wheat Kings to equal­ize the game dur­ing the Pat­ti­son Agri­cul­ture Teddy Bear Toss Night, Dec. 1. Both teams scored again dur­ing the sec­ond pe­riod to keep the game tied at 2- 2, but the Wheat Kings scored three unan­swered goals dur­ing the third pe­riod to win 5-2. All the items from the teddy bear toss were do­nated to the Sal­va­tion Army's Christ­mas cam­paign in Swift Cur­rent. This year's event col­lected about 725 teddy bears and other soft toys, along with around 435 hats, mitts and gloves. Bron­cos goalie Joel Hofer and the puck ended in the net dur­ing a third pe­riod in­ci­dent, but the goal was not al­lowed due to goal­tender in­ter­fer­ence.
