TALENTED TRIO:

-

The Etienne Fletcher trio from Regina played their first ever show at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current as part of the 2018-19 Blenders concert series, Dec. 8. Fletcher is an award-winning singersongwriter who uses his self-named group to create music across different genres that combines his French and English roots. The current Blenders music series will continue in 2019 with two diverse musical performances in January. The Royal Foundry, an alternative pop band from Edmonton, will be playing on Jan. 12. Their song “Never Have Time” won the 2018 John Lennon international songwriting contest in the pop category. The Jan. 18 show will feature The Jerry Cans, a five-piece band from Iqaluit, Nunavut. The group combines traditional Inuit throat singing with indie folk- rock to create a distinctive sound, which they refer to as Inuktitut rock and roll.
