Swift Current RCMP weekend calls for service

The Swift Current RCMP stayed busy last weekend following the Christmas/New Year’s holidays. 2019-JANUARY-04

4: 11 p.m. -while on patrol officers issued a warning ticket to the driver of a gray Hyundai Elantra for disobeying a stop sign.

4:39 p.m. -911 hang up call from a business on the 100 block of 1st Avenue N.E. Officers spoke to a property rep for the business who advised there was no emergency taking place and the 911 call had been made by mistake.

7:02 p.m. - report of an alarm at a financial institutio­n on the 200 block of 1st Avenue N.W. Officers attended the business and determined the alarm to be false.

10:24 p.m. - report of guests of a commercial dwelling unit on the 1300 block of North Service Road E. drinking alcohol in a common area and will not leave. Officers attended and gave a warning to all guests in the common area about consuming alcohol in a public place.

11:23 p.m. - 911 call of a two vehicle collision where a gold car made a sudden stop in front of a semi on the #1 Highway causing the semi to rear end the car. The car then drove away from the location. This matter is still under investigat­ion. 2019-JANUARY-05

7:05 a.m. - report of an individual sleeping on the bench inside the lobby of a financial institutio­n on the 100 block of 1st Avenue N.E. Officers attended the location and spoke to the male who showed no signs of impairment and advised he didn't have a place to go until the following night. The male agreed to gather his things and leave the location.

10:04 a.m. - report of a male walking in front of vehicles on 2nd Avenue S.E. trying to stop vehicles. The caller was concerned the male could get hurt. Officers attended and told the male to stay on the sidewalks as it was dangerous to be out in the street.

10:06 a.m. - report of an alarm at business on the 1400 block of Cheadle Street W. This was the sixth false alarm at this business and a letter was sent to the property suspending services until the alarm has been fixed.

1:10 p.m. - report of a found driver's licence. Detachment staff were unable to obtain a contact number for the owner of the identifica­tion so it was mailed to the issuer.

2:35 p.m. - report of two females in a blue Honda CRVin the parking lot of a business on the 1400 block of North Service Road E. smoking out of a bong. The caller was unsure if the driver had smoked anything but had observed the passenger smoking. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle .

4:45 p.m. - report of someone writing on the callers truck in black permanent marker. The vehicle was washed and the marker ca.m.e off. The caller wanted it reported for informatio­n purposes in case other mischiefs were reported in the area of Steele Crescent.

8: 10 p.m. -911 call of a hit and run to the caller's white Mini Cooper while parked at a commercial dwelling unit on the 1100

block of South Service Road E. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.

8:53 p.m. - report of a barking dog on the 200 block of 10th Avenue N.W. The dog has been barking for the last three hours. Officers spoke to the owner who advised they will bring the dog inside.

9:54 p.m. - report from an intoxicate­d female saying her puppy was stolen. The female said the woman who has the dog was purchasing the dog and is now ripping her off. Officers spoke to the female and advised she would need to pursue the matter in civil court.

10:07 p.m. - report of a woman in the lobby of a dwelling unit on the 300 block of Sidney Street E. for the last couple hours and refusing to leave. Officers attended the location and asked the female to leave, she complied and left. 2019-JANUARY-06

12:50 a.m. -while officers were out on patrol they conducted a curfew check on male who when checked had been consuming alcohol. The male was on conditions not consume alcohol and will be charged with one count of breaching his probation order under the Criminal Code.

2:15 a.m. - report of the caller's intoxicate­d mother trying to fight him on the 100 block of Lorne Street E. Officers attended the location and observed an intoxicate­d female yelling at her son and following him around the room. The female was arrested by police and was later released once sober. No criminal charges were laid in relation to the incident.

7:50 a.m. -911 call from a female looking for her bank informatio­n number. The call taker confirmed there was no emergency taking place and put the caller through to her bank. Officers later contacted the woman who apologized for calling an emergency line by mistake.

10:24 a.m. -report of a female that continues the contact the complainan­t by phone and is very crude. This has been an on- going issue and she is having issues getting the female's number blocked. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

12:01 p.m. -report of a female sending the caller threatenin­g text messages. The caller would like the female spoken to and told to quit contacting her. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

1 :56 p.m. - report of a male breaching a condition of his court order by contacting the female caller. This matter is still under investigat­ion. 2:27 p.m. - request to do a well being check on the occupants of a property on the 500 block of 1st Avenue N.W. The caller advised that they had gone to the property yesterday and the door was locked and a Christmas tree could be seen. The caller returned to the property again today and the doors were open but nobody ca.m.e to the door. Officers attended the residence and spoke to the property occupants who were fine.

5:09 p.m. - report of a female shopliftin­g from a business on the 1600 block of Springs Drive. The female put an item in her purse, walked out of the store and got into the passenger side of a white car with a sunroof. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

6:06 p.m. - report of a semi that drove away from a wash bay pulling the wand out of the ceiling. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

7:51 p.m. - 911 call of a small car traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of the #1 Highway. Four other complaints received about the sa.m.e vehicle. Officers made patrols but did not locate the vehicle. No other calls were received in relation to this incident.

9:14 p.m. -911 hang up call from a dwelling unit on the 300 block of Matador Drive. Officers attended the location and learned that the property rep had wanted two subjects to leave her residence as they'd had a verbal argument and she was

now tired and wanted to go to bed. Both parties left the residence, no other calls were received .

10: 11 p.m. -while on patrol officers witnessed a blue Ford F 150 traveling on the North Service Road with an expired licence plate. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over it fled from police. The truck was later located on 11th Avenue N.W. where the vehicle again fled from police. The truck was later located for a third time at a gas station on the 2600 block of North Service Road W. where it fled from police a third time. Officers were able to positively identify the driver of the truck the third time it was located. This matter is still under investigat­ion and criminal charges are pending.
