RCMP deal with numerous calls to 9-1-1

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for Swift Current RCMP:

JANUARY-11

6:21 p.m. - Report of a light being left on some work equipment on the 1100 block of 11th Avenue N.E. The caller wanted police to search the local motels for the crew and ask them to turn the light off. Officers patrolled the area and did not locate any excessive lights.

6:22 p.m. - 911 hang up call from a dwelling unit on the O block of Hayes Drive. The caller had contacted 911 after the buildings fire alarm went off. The alarm was determined to be false and no emergency was taking place.

10:28 p.m. - Report of a suicidal individual. The individual was transporte­d by police to the hospital for evaluation.

11:50 p.m. -While on patrol, officers conducted a curfew check on a male youth who was found to be breaching his court order by not being home when they were supposed to be. The male youth will be charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

JANUARY-12

12:22 a.m. -Two nonsensica­l 911 calls received from the area of 11th Avenue NE and North Railway Street E. Officers attended the area and located an intoxicate­d male youth. The male youth was also to be found breaching the condition of his court order by consuming alcohol. The male youth was arrested and will be charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

12:23 a.m. -While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a semi for parking in a no-parking zone on the #1 Highway.

1:12 a.m. - Report of harassing phone calls from an intoxicate­d female. Phone number that was calling was able to be blocked and police assistance was no longer required.

11:39 a.m. - Report of a vehicle being gone through on the 200 block of 13th Avenue N. E. Officers attended the location where they discovered entry had not been gained to the vehicle. A hanger and a pair of pliers were left behind at the scene.

There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.

2:26 p.m. -While on patrol officers issued a warning ticket to the driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado for speeding.

3:08 p.m. - Report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersecti­on of 1st Avenue N.W. and Lorne Street W.

A gray Plymouth Grand Voyager had stopped abruptly for a pedestrian causing a blue Chevrolet Cavalier that had been following behind the van slammed on their brakes and slid into the back of the van. No one was injured as a result of the collision and no charges were laid.

3:47 p.m. - 911 hang up call from a location on the 2000 block Saskatchew­an Drive. Upon call back police were advised there was no emergency taking place and 911 had been dialed by mistake.

4:05 p.m. - Request to conduct a well being check on the caller's mother. She was located at home by officers.

5:53 p.m. - 911 call of unwanted persons at a residence on the 200 block of 3rd Avenue N.E. The caller stated her sibling and another female are threatenin­g her and refusing to leave her home. Officers attended the residence and both parties agreed to leave the residence.

10: 17 p.m. -While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a blue Chevrolet Blazer for operating a motor vehicle without valid registrati­on.

JANUARY-13

2:33 a.m. -While officers were on patrol, a condition check was conducted on a female who was found to be in breach of her court order by consuming alcohol. The female was arrested and lodged until sober. The female will be charged under the Criminal Code with one count of breaching the condition of her undertakin­g.

4:25 a.m. -911 call from a male wanting it documented that he and his exgirlfrie­nd, who he is on a court order to have no contact with, were both at a local establishm­ent earlier in the night but no exchange of words occurred between the two of them. Officers spoke to the male who sounded intoxicate­d and advised that the next time something like this occurs he is better off to leave the location so that he cannot be charged for breaching his conditions.

6:14 a.m. - Report of an impaired driver in a brown Dodge Ram leaving a residence on the 700 block of Battleford Trail. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate any vehicles matching the descriptio­n provided.

6:26 a.m. - Report of a dispute on the 300 block of 2nd Avenue S. E. The caller stated it sounded like a fight was occurring as lots of yelling and screaming could be heard as well as things being thrown.

Officers attended the residence and it appeared no one was in the home. Police have attended this location in the past where a couple having gotten into verbal arguments about their relationsh­ip.

6: 11 p.m. - Report of keys that were left in a deposit box of a financial institutio­n on the 100 block of 1st Avenue N.E. Officers attended the location and picked up the keys that were later returned to their owner.

9:39 p.m. - 911 call reporting negative reviews being written about the caller online in relation to the business he works for. The caller advised they believe they know who wrote the review and believes it is retaliatio­n from a previous exchange between them. The caller was advised that writing negative reviews on line is not a criminal offence and that he should ignore it or speak with his manager. The caller was warned about the proper use of 911.

3:47 p.m. - 911 hang up call from a location on the 2000 block Saskatchew­an Drive. Upon call back police were advised there was no emergency taking place and 911 had been dialed by mistake.

4:05 p.m. - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller's mother. She was located at home by officers.

5:53 p.m. - 911 call of unwanted persons at a residence on the 200 block of 3rd Avenue N.E. The caller stated her sibling and another female are threatenin­g her and refusing to leave her home. Officers attended the residence and both parties agreed to leave the residence.

10:17 p.m. -While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a blue Chevrolet Blazer for operating a motor vehicle without valid registrati­on.
