Less calls for Swift Current RCMP this weekend, but some serious ones

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:

2019-JANUARY-18

6:29 p.m. - Report of a two-vehicle collision on 2nd Avenue N.E. where a Ford Edge collided with a Pontiac G6. No one was injured as a result of the collision and no charges were laid.

8:36 p.m. - Report of five intoxicate­d persons attempting to drive away from a location on the 1600 block of North Service Road E. The individual­s were in a black Dodge Ram truck, with it running when they were told they should not be driving. The individual­s exited the vehicle and started walking east on the North Service Road. Officers attended the location but the individual­s had gotten into a taxi and left the area.

2019-JANUARY-19

2:19 a.m. - Request for police assistance at a location on the 200 block of Central Avenue N. Officers attended and spoke to staff who advised there had been a bit of trouble outside five minutes ago but the individual causing problems left.

2:40 a.m - Report of a taxi on the 100 block of 6th Avenue N.E. who just dropped off a fare who went inside a residence without paying. The caller has been knocking on the door but no one will answer it to pay the fare. Police attended the location and the taxi was gone. Police were advised the next day that the individual had paid for his cab and apologized for what had happened.

4:54 a.m - 911 call of an assault. The caller stated he was punched in the face by his ex-girlfriend. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

10:23 a.m. - 911 misdial at a commercial dwelling unit on the 400 block of North Service Road E. Officers determined no emergency was taking place and it had been a guest attempting to call out.

10:46 a.m. - Report of a lost cellphone. Police were later notified the caller had located her cellphone.

2:25 p.m. - Report of a female talking on her phone while driving on Central Avenue N. The female is driving a black Dodge Ram 1500. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

7:10 p.m. - Report of someone loitering in the entrance of a dwelling unit on the 300 block of Sidney Street E. Officers attended and spoke to the male who advised he didn't know anyone who lived in the building and had no where else to go. Social Services was contacted who provided the male with assistance.

2019-JANUARY-20

7:51 a.m. - Report of lots of parties occurring at a residence on the 800 block of George Street E.

9:25 a.m.- Report of an injured deer on Gladstone Street E. The caller stated the deer appeared to be suffering. Officers attended the area but were not able to locate any injured deer.

2: 19 p.m. - 911 call from a female stating she needs help. Officers attended her location where they learned she had taken something in an attempt of suicide. The female was transporte­d by EMS to the hospital for evaluation.

3:20 p.m. - Report of a suicidal individual. The individual was taken to hospital for evaluation.

5:59 p.m. - Report of non-profit bins having the hinges sawed off of them. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

6:41 p.m. - Report of a male harassing customers for rides and for money at an establishm­ent on the 400 block of South Service Road E. Officers attended the location &and took the male home.
